We’re setting off in the “Hoffnungshaus®-Mobil” (Mobile House of Hope), a converted Sprinter van – heading to the areas around our Hoffnungshäuser (Houses of Hope), right in the heart of neighbourhoods where access to education is limited. The Mobile House of Hope is packed with knowledge, games, experiments and dedicated people who bring concrete educational opportunities into the children’s everyday lives:

Amina is seven years old. She lives with her family in temporary accommodation for refugees – just a few streets away from one of our Hoffnungshäuser. Amina is curious and eager to learn, and she is always delighted when the Hoffnungshaus residents visit the accommodation. Yet although there are extracurricular educational opportunities in her neighbourhood, they seem far away. The barriers are high: language barriers, patchy information, limited mobility – and sometimes a lack of trust.

That’s where the “Hoffnungshaus®-Mobil” comes in – for children like Amina.

We at the Hoffnungsträger Foundation have a dream: we don’t just want to invite people to educational programmes, we want to bring them directly to the children who need them most. With the “Hoffnungshaus-Mobil”, a converted Sprinter van, we set off – to the areas near our Hoffnungshäuser, right in the heart of neighbourhoods with limited access to education. The “Hoffnungshaus-Mobil” is packed with knowledge, games, experiments and dedicated people who bring concrete educational opportunities into the children’s everyday lives:

  • Low-threshold tutoring programmes that specifically help children catch up on learning gaps.
  • STEM experiments that bring maths and science to life.
  • Holiday activities and experiential learning that build courage and boost self-confidence.
  • Social learning, so that community and integration can be experienced first-hand.

There are role models for this kind of work – and now we are putting the idea into action ourselves.

“In a perfect world, every child would have the same educational opportunities. With the Hoffnungshaus-Mobil, we’re getting a little closer to this dream, because we’re not only bringing fantastic activities to children from educationally disadvantaged families, but also connecting them with existing opportunities in their neighbourhood. This makes education sustainable and brings hope to life!” – Julia Breuninger, Education Officer at the Hoffnungsträger Foundation

All this is possible – with your help! With your donation, you bring the Hoffnungshaus-Mobil directly to children. You make real educational opportunities possible in places where they are hard to come by. And you help reduce educational inequality – with every kilometre travelled.

Let’s set hope in motion together.

What your donation achieves:

  • With €100, you support 20 children with learning materials
  • €200 helps us reach up to 50 children on a weekly basis
  • With €500, you also support holiday programmes that we aim to run regularly with groups of up to 20 children

Please help us and donate to our educational work outside the Hoffnungshäuser, so that we can provide individual support to children from educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. For a strong society!
