Jobs with hope

Vacancies

Your job. Real impact.

We create solutions – from innovative timber construction and a vibrant community life in our Hoffnungshäuser (Houses of Hope) to global reconciliation work and philanthropy services. This is who we are: Hoffnungsträger – bearers of hope. Over 150 staff members across Germany work every day to ensure that hope grows and people find new prospects. This diversity creates a dynamic that sets us apart.

Why Hoffnungsträger

Spreading hope both within Hoffnungsträger and externally with our partners – that is the beating heart of Hoffnungsträger. We are driven by how we can use our resources in an entrepreneurial way to meet people’s social needs – and how we can contribute spiritually, drawing on our Christian values, to pass on hope.

Our work thrives on dedicated teams and strong collaboration. We consciously invest in community – across locations, personally and united in faith. Our faith flows into our daily work through voluntary opportunities for devotions and prayer, amongst other things. We work dynamically, with plenty of creative freedom and flat hierarchies.

Faith, creativity, courage, responsibility and community are more than just words – they shape our decisions, our attitude and how we work together.

Frequently asked questions

What makes Hoffnungsträger special as an employer?

Hoffnungsträger combines entrepreneurial action with Christian values and social impact. Whether in international projects, social work, philanthropy, innovative timber construction or administration – with your skills, you contribute to solutions for societal challenges, so that hope becomes a reality and people gain new perspectives. Our daily work is characterised by a strong sense of community, faith and plenty of scope for shaping the future.

How are our Christian values reflected in our work?

What unites us is the desire to share hope together and to make it tangible through our own actions and in our interactions. Our bedrock is the Christian faith; it shapes our relationships, our attitude and our daily actions. The values that arise from this are not just words to us; they are a conscious part of our day-to-day work. Spiritual activities such as prayer meetings are voluntary. It is important to us that all staff share our values and identify with our vision.

Can I also submit an open application?

Absolutely. There is a lot happening here, and new ideas often create new roles. If you don’t see a suitable vacancy in our current job listings, we’d be delighted to receive your open application with a short cover letter.

In which areas can I work at Hoffnungsträger?

The Hoffnungsträger Group currently comprises five companies: Hoffnungshaus (social work, integration), Global Impact (international programmes), Hoffnungsträger-Projektentwickler (timber construction, architecture, project management), Sinngeber (philanthropy services) and Verantwortungseigentum. In addition, there are centrally managed functions such as HR, finance, marketing and IT.

Where does Hoffnungsträger operate?

Our headquarters are in Leonberg near Stuttgart. We are also represented at numerous Hoffnungshaus locations throughout Baden-Württemberg, as well as at other locations in Germany. The place of work may vary depending on the role.

Are there opportunities for remote working?

Yes, where the role allows, we offer remote working and flexible working hours. We place great emphasis on trust and personal responsibility. For roles involving direct contact with residents or on construction sites, being present on site is naturally part of the job.

What does “remuneration in line with internal pay scales” mean?

We have developed our own transparent remuneration system, which is based on non-profit and social sector pay structures. It ensures fair, transparent salaries for all positions within the Group.

What further training opportunities are available?

Professional development is important to us: every employee receives an annual budget for further training and professional development. We support you in developing professionally and personally – in line with your role. During the annual performance review, we set goals together and discuss your training aspirations.

How is cross-location community fostered at Hoffnungsträger?

We make a conscious effort to invest in relationships: through cross-location team days, joint events and a summer party for the whole group. We also have voluntary activities such as prayer meetings. For us, community is built into our daily working lives, not just during company outings.

Can I also work part-time?

Many of our roles are advertised as full-time and part-time. We try to find working arrangements that suit both the role and your personal circumstances. Please feel free to discuss this with us during the application process.

Who can I contact if I have any questions?

Our HR team will guide you through the entire process. If you have any questions about the application process or working at Hoffnungsträger, you can contact us at any time at bewerbungen@hoffnungstraeger.de.
