Hoffnungsträger Stiftung and Vector Stiftung laid the contractual foundations for the construction of “residential neighbourhoods for strong communities” in Mühlacker at the beginning of May. The relevant contracts have now been signed. At the same time, Vector Stiftung had the purchase of the building plot from the City of Mühlacker notarised.
Two buildings with a total of 19 apartments and a communal room are planned. The houses are intended to create space for integrative shared living and to further strengthen Hoffnungsträger’s existing commitment in Mühlacker. Hoffnungsträger has already implemented integrative housing there in the past.
Vector Stiftung will realise the construction project as the owner and lease the buildings to Hoffnungsträger Stiftung on a long-term basis. Once completed, Hoffnungsträger Stiftung will operate the houses and further develop its concept of housing, community and support there.
“In this new neighbourhood, we are creating affordable housing and places where community can be lived,” says Oliver Konanz, General Representative of Hoffnungsträger Stiftung. “The long-term partnership with Vector Stiftung gives the project a reliable perspective and enables us to bring together people from different backgrounds and life situations.”
“Combating homelessness is very important to us,” says Edith Wolf, Member of the Executive Board of Vector Stiftung. “Housing is the social question of our time. We support a wide range of projects aimed at combating homelessness. Building housing ourselves is another important step for us, and we are pleased to take this step together with Hoffnungsträger.”
Demolition of the existing dilapidated buildings is scheduled to begin next month. The construction project will then be implemented promptly by Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler GmbH using the tried-and-tested and award-winning timber modular construction method.
The aim of the new Hoffnungshäuser is to bring together people of different generations, life situations and cultural backgrounds in a communal living environment and to support them through accompanying support.

Über die Hoffnungsträger
The Hoffnungsträger Foundation was founded in 2013 by Tobias Merckle and has set itself the goal of turning many people into bearers of hope. Since its foundation, under the leadership of Marcus Witzke, integrative housing projects such as the Hoffnungshaus® as well as international programmes for the rehabilitation of offenders and their children have been established. The group now comprises Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler GmbH, Hoffnungsträger Global Impact and Rosskopf + Partner (since 2021). Furthermore, the subsidiary Sinngeber, operating under the umbrella of the Hoffnungsträger Group, facilitates values-based philanthropy for high-net-worth individuals who wish to support social transformation through their commitment.
Through its diverse programmes, Hoffnungsträger demonstrates how systemic thinking, helping people to help themselves, and action for the common good, in conjunction with social innovation, can bring about sustainable change. At the heart of its work lie charity, active and sustainable integration, and the gift of hope and prospects – these form the foundation for a sustainable and solidarity-based society.
