Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler, working in partnership with the City of Geislingen, has delivered a timber-frame childcare centre for 88 children. The construction phase took just eight months, from late August 2025 to late April 2026 – including the winter months. The new childcare centre will officially open on Friday, 11th September 2026.
Leonberg, 8th September 2026 – A new place for education and childcare has been created in the municipal park of Geislingen an der Steige: the “Bunte Welt im Stadtpark” childcare centre. The new building provides places for a total of 88 children.
The childcare centre will officially open on Friday, 11th September 2026, at 10:30 a.m. Guests are expected to include Geislingen’s Lord Mayor Ignazio Ceffalia, representatives of the city, Hoffnungsträger Stiftung CEO Marcus Witzke and representatives of Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler.
Eight months of construction – including the winter months
The project demonstrates the contribution that systematised construction methods and clearly structured processes can make to the development of municipal infrastructure. Prefabrication, well-established processes and close coordination between the project partners create the conditions for short and predictable construction schedules.
The new childcare centre provides Geislingen with modern educational infrastructure that combines functional requirements with resource-efficient construction and a child-friendly environment. It creates a place where 88 children can learn, play, explore and grow up together.
Delivered in partnership
Close cooperation between all those involved was key to the project’s rapid delivery. The City of Geislingen commissioned the project. The building application planning was undertaken by andOFFICE. Merklegruppe, through Projekt Holzbau Immobilien GmbH, was involved as a partial general contractor responsible for planning and construction. Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoffnungsträger Stiftung, was responsible for the project.
The collaboration demonstrates how municipal clients, project developers, planners and construction companies can work together to deliver solutions that meet the growing demand for social and municipal infrastructure.
