Foundation stone laid at official ceremony in Mühlacker: a new place for affordable housing and active neighbourly community

Vector Stiftung and Hoffnungsträger Stiftung jointly launch construction of 19 apartments and a community room

Mühlacker, 7. August 2026 With the foundation stone laid at an official ceremony on Thursday, 6 August 2026, Hoffnungsträger Stiftung and Vector Stiftung gave the official go-ahead for the construction of the Zukunftshaus Mühlacker. Alongside representatives of Hoffnungsträger Stiftung, Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler GmbH, Vector Stiftung and the construction companies involved, Mayor Stephan Retter and representatives of the City of Mühlacker also picked up their spades.

The new housing project is being built at Sperberweg 13 and 13/1. Two buildings with a total of 19 apartments and a community room are planned. The project will not only create urgently needed affordable housing, but is also intended to become a place where diversity and active neighbourly community are a natural part of everyday life.

“We are pleased to invest in this housing project because it combines affordable housing with a compelling social concept,” said Edith Wolf, Board Member of Vector Stiftung. “The project creates long-term prospects for people while also strengthening social cohesion in Mühlacker. For us, it is important not only to finance individual apartments, but to enable the development of a vibrant and well-mixed residential environment.”

Vector Stiftung is realising the construction project as the owner and will lease the buildings to Hoffnungsträger Stiftung on a long-term basis. Once completed, Hoffnungsträger Stiftung will take over the operation of the site and continue its proven concept of housing, community and individual support there.

The new project builds on the positive development of Hoffnungsträger Stiftung’s existing engagement in Mühlacker.

“With the new housing project, we are continuing our successful work in Mühlacker and developing it further together with Vector Stiftung,” said Oliver Konanz, General Representative of Hoffnungsträger Stiftung. “We are creating a place where affordable housing, social diversity and active community life come together. The long-term partnership gives us a reliable perspective for this work.”

The cooperation between the two foundations is based on shared objectives. Among other things, Vector Stiftung supports projects that create housing, test innovative forms of living and prevent homelessness. Through its housing projects, Hoffnungsträger Group develops inclusive living environments in which people are strengthened through community, support and new prospects.

Construction is being carried out by Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler GmbH using its proven timber modular construction method. This method enables efficient implementation and combines cost-effective construction with a sustainable building concept.
