Hoffnungsträger Gala 2025

Successful Hoffnungsträger Gala shows how ideas become hope in action. The Hoffnungsträger Gala moved guests with touching stories, celebrity guests and encounters full of hope.  A total of €876,700 in donations was raised for the Hoffnungshäuser (Houses of Hope).

Spreading hope. Building the future. Under this guiding principle, the grand Hoffnungsträger Gala 2025  took place  on 15th November at the SpardaWelt in Stuttgart. It was an evening that brought people together and created a space where diverse life paths, cultures and experiences found a shared home. 200 invited guests from the worlds of business, politics, culture and civil society sent a powerful message of humanity, participation and social cohesion.

Where integration takes on a new meaning
What made this gala special was that residents of the Hoffnungshäuser (Houses of Hope) told their own stories. They spoke about their flight, about grief and new beginnings, and about how being a stranger can turn into closeness when people listen to one another and support one another. In this way, the often abstract concept of integration took on a powerful, vibrant meaning: a sense of community in which cultures enrich one another, neighbourliness is put into practice, and the future is shaped together.

A symbol of social cohesion
State Secretary Dr Ute Leidig summed it up in her welcoming address: “In the Hoffnungshäuser (Houses of Hope), housing becomes a living space.” Minister-President Winfried Kretschmann, patron of the gala, praised the foundation as a driving force for social cohesion in Baden-Württemberg.

An evening full of encounters and resonance
Presenter Tim Niedernolte guided the audience through a moving and varied programme that combined stories, encounters and commitment. At the Silent Auction, hosted by Tatjana Geßler, high-quality prizes and handmade products from the Hoffnungshäuser were auctioned off.

A highlight in terms of both content and music was violin maker and physicist Martin Schleske, who spoke in words and sound about ‘resonance’ – about how connections between people are formed when they open up to one another. This idea could be felt throughout the evening: hope arises where people resonate with one another.

Sustainable and mindful enjoyment
The gala also made its mark in culinary terms: the Tress brothers,  recently awarded a Michelin organic star, sponsored a regional, organic and sustainable menu, embedded within the ‘Green Event BW’ sustainability concept, which promotes environmentally conscious event organisation and was consistently implemented for the occasion.

Joint commitment shapes the future
The gala impressively demonstrates just how diverse commitment can be. Donors, sponsors, volunteers, companies and local authorities all contributed together to shaping the future. The donations raised during the evening go directly towards the work of the Hoffnungshäuser and towards new locations in Baden-Württemberg, Bavaria and Rhineland-Palatinate.

In the end, there is more than just the total amount raised: there is the awareness of being part of a movement that is building the future, day by day, person by person.

The evening brings into focus what the Hoffnungshäuser are all about: where neighbourhoods turn into friendships, where diversity grows into strength, and where people support one another, hope is brought to life.

About Hoffnungsträger

The Hoffnungsträger Foundation was founded in 2013 by Tobias Merckle and has set itself the goal of turning many people into bearers of hope. Since its foundation, under the leadership of Marcus Witzke, integrative housing projects such as the Hoffnungshaus® as well as international programmes for the rehabilitation of offenders and their children have been established. The group now comprises Hoffnungsträger Projektentwickler GmbH, Hoffnungsträger Global Impact and Rosskopf + Partner (since 2021). Furthermore, the subsidiary Sinngeber, operating under the umbrella of the Hoffnungsträger Group, facilitates values-based philanthropy for high-net-worth individuals who wish to support social transformation through their commitment.

Through its diverse programmes, Hoffnungsträger demonstrates how systemic thinking, helping people to help themselves, and action for the common good, in conjunction with social innovation, can bring about sustainable change. At the heart of its work lie charity, active and sustainable integration, and the gift of hope and prospects – these form the foundation for a sustainable and solidarity-based society.
